Java is a Multi-OS Compatible language.

Differences:

WinTrader: Optimized for use on Windows 2000/XP systems; Performs faster and more efficiently than the Java Trader. Also makes better use of System Resources such as Memory, CPU.

Java Trader: Allows usage of the Trading platform on multiple OS's such as Linux, Macintosh, etc. Also, in the case of issues working with the Windows Version, can use this as a workaround.
